The world's premier luxury capital
London is the world's most cosmopolitan luxury hub — a city that absorbs and reflects the very best from every culture while maintaining its own irreplaceable identity. From the Michelin-starred restaurants of Mayfair to the private members clubs of Soho, the couture of Bond Street to the world-class auction houses of St James's, London operates at the highest level across every luxury category. It is also one of the world's great gateways, with more international direct flights than any other city.
Recommended
May to September
London's summer brings long evenings, open-air theatre in Regent's Park, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, and the city's parks at their most beautiful. June and July offer the best weather with temperatures of 18–24°C.
Worth Noting
January and February are quiet and grey, though hotel rates drop significantly and cultural venues are at their least crowded.
Mayfair contains one of the world's greatest concentrations of fine dining. Sketch, The Connaught, Hélène Darroze, Scott's, and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester all operate here. The area around Shepherd Market offers more intimate options in a village-like setting.
Hyde Park, St James's Park, Kensington Gardens, and Regent's Park form a green corridor through central London. In summer, the Serpentine Gallery pavilion, open-air concerts, and the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall make the parks as culturally rich as the museums.
London's West End is the world's most dynamic theatrical centre. The National Theatre, the RSC's London home, and the commercial theatres of Shaftesbury Avenue operate simultaneously. Book premium seats well in advance for major productions — or use a concierge service for last-minute premium access.
Bond Street houses the flagship boutiques of every major luxury house — Bulgari, Graff, Tiffany, Chanel, Burberry. Knightsbridge offers Harrods and Harvey Nichols, both operating at the very top of the department store category. Burlington Arcade on Piccadilly is London's oldest and most elegant covered shopping gallery.
Many of London's world-class museums — the British Museum, the V&A, the Natural History Museum — can be experienced privately after hours. The V&A in particular offers exclusive evening access for corporate and premium events, including private gallery dinners.
